ABOUT ECOTECH FORESTRY SERVICES

According to the United Nations, 31% of the earth's land area is covered by forests, of which 36% are primary forests.  Forests around the world are home to 80% of all terrestrial biodiversity, and 300 million people.

1.6 Billion people depend on forests for their livelihood.   30% of the forests are used for the production of wood and non-wood forest products, of which the trade in 2004 was estimated at $327 billion..

With past working experience in Mpumalanga, Swaziland, Western and Northern Cape, EcoTech Forestry Services has experience of both mechanised and more labour intensive forestry operations.  Around the Western and Northern Cape we focus mainly on smaller scale harvesting, transport and processing within the broader Working for Water initiative.  Although smaller scale by name, this relatively small part of the broader forestry has certainly been involved in the harvesting of some of the largest trees in the country.

Our forestry consultant holds a MSc in Forestry (cum laude) and can offer advisory and training services relating to your specific needs.
